Gift Caricatures Of Your Loved Ones:

Make an ideal present for any occasion- anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, retirements, Christmas or presentations etc. A personalised caricature makes a unique gift to treasure for many years to come. This is a special gift of an original piece of art at an affordable price which your family, friends or work colleagues will adore! You can't buy these in the shops!

Caricatures are drawn from photographs. All I require are 2 or 3 good close up, recentish pictures of the person(s) you'd like me to draw. You can email or post them to me. All photos will be returned to you afterwards. You may like to tell me some information on the persons hobbies, interests, pastimes, favourite football team etc, if you want a lot of personal details to be included in the picture. Some 'background details' or a relevant funny situation you'd like the person to be depicted in, make a more personalised caricature. I can draw people in any kind of situation, so we can make it as daft as you like!

Prices from £60. Prices depend on the size of the caricature you would like: A4 (210 x 297mm), A3 (297 x 420mm) or perhaps even bigger. Prices also depend on whether you'd like your caricature to be in colour or black & white and if there may be more than one person to be caricatured in the picture. Prices also depend on whether you'd like me to frame the finished artwork or not.

Gift Caricatures Drawn In 'Live Style'

You can also commission me to do gift caricatures of your loved ones, family and friends in my 'live work' style: A3 sized simple 'head and shoulders' type caricatures (no props or scenarios), drawn with black and grey markers from photos. £25 each for a single person caricature or £35 for a couple. These type of caricatures are very affordable, popular and quick to produce (usually within 24 hours). Great gifts for any occasion!

Why not hire me to attend your special occasion or event to draw caricatures of you and your guests?
Whether it's a wedding reception, birthday party, fun day, corporate dinner or team building day or any other special event my live caricatures of your guests will be sure to entertain your crowd!

How it works....

To hire me to attend your event and draw live, on the spot caricatures of your guests, there is an hourly fee (please email me for competitive prices) and a minimum booking time of 2 hours for all events. There may also be travel expenses added if the venue is more than 30 miles from my home address (I am based in North Glasgow). The event organiser pays my hourly fee for the event and the caricatures are drawn and given out 'free' to the guests on the day.

Regarding my availability, you'd have to let me know when/where your event is taking place and from there I would check my event diary to confirm if I'm free on the specified date. An initial non refundable deposit prior to the event will secure the date for you. The remaining balance can be paid on the day, or beforehand if you like.

I can normally produce roughly 8 to 10 large caricatures in an hour on average. This is a pretty standard / normal amount as caricaturists go. Anyone who tells you they can draw 50 odd people in an hour is most probably lying!

The caricatures I do are A3 (double the size of A4 paper) in size and drawn with black permanent markers onto good quality, smooth, thick paper. One 'head' per sheet.

Unlike some other caricaturists, my main preference is to work from a seated, fixed position and draw from an easel. Here's why:

The great thing about working from an easel is that other guests can peek over my shoulder and see what I am doing, therefore it's entertaining for others as well as the person being drawn in the hotseat!

Live caricature at an event certainly makes for a good topic of conversation and gets the 'banter' and laughs going! Expect your guests to be fascinated, captivated and amused as each drawing unfolds.

With the easel I can work quickly and continously, drawing people one after the other, which gives you the customer maximum value for money. There's no need for me to waste time roaming around the room introducing myself and what I do to each group of people.....and then trying to convince the 'shy ones' that having a caricature is a painless process, etc... All of this timewasting can be avoided if guests who want to be drawn come to me instead!

The caricatures themselves which are drawn on an easel are  larger, and more polished and professional looking than your average little wobbly A4 sized doodle drawn on a clipboard in the crook of someones' arm. Many of the people I draw at events tell me that they intend to have their drawing framed after I give it to them....I hear this quite a lot! Your guests will have a fun, unique momento to take home with them after your event.

Finally....(and importantly!):  If guests come to me to be drawn on a purely voluntary basis at your event; then there is absolutely no risk of me drawing someone who may not wish to be captured, or those who may be a little sensitive about their looks. When drawing caricatures of people at any event my intention is never to be 'cruel'; however my aim is to have fun with what Mother Nature has already bestowed upon people! Expect facial features to be exaggerated for comic effect whilst a recognisable likeness is maintained.....all created in good fun  (And it is painless, honestly....!)  

Another popular service I offer is to draw the live on the spot caricatures on paper that's been tastefully preprinted with your own personal message on it for your guests as a personal momento of the day.

E.g. (For a wedding):

'Clare and Martin would like to thank you for sharing their wedding day with them today! 4th of June 2012.' 

Something similiar or whatever text you desire. The wording would appear along the bottom of the page with my drawing of a guest above.

All I require from you is to to provide a well lit area for me to work in, in order for me to be able to see who I am drawing. Please bear this in mind when considering booking times; as at evening events, lights tend to be dimmed when the meal, DJ, band, comedian or any other entertainment takes place.
